Grice Wharf, Residential Conversion & Fit-out

Value: £1,200,000
Duration: 41 weeks

Quantity Surveyor: Box Associates

Instructed by a private client, we completed the conversion and fit-out of a Grade II listed property in Grice Wharf.

The property, which is surrounded on all sides by neighbouring, occupied premises, was originally a

former warehouse. The project required the conversion of this building to create seven new apartments, two flats on the ground, first and second floors with a penthouse suite and roof terrace on the top floor.

The work comprised the initial strip-out of the existing building including all service provision. Remodelling, involving structural works, was then carried out to create the new dwellings. All seven apartments were fitted out with bespoke kitchens and bathrooms, new floors and ceilings, whilst retaining a number of the building’s original, unique historical features.

Grice Wharf sits on the River Thames, with the property windows looking out directly onto the river giving rise to a number of environmental considerations (including flood defences) both during and post construction.
