Metropolitan Police Custody Suites RefurbishmentPrint Case Study

Value: £670,000
Duration: 27 weeks
Quantity Surveyor: Atkins
Architect: Client Direct

Working for the Metropolitan Police, we refurbished the custody suites across twenty-six police stations throughout London. Following an initial strip-out, the works included the provision of new custody desks, ceilings, flooring, lighting, specialist custodial fixtures and fittings and a full decoration package.

The project required the meticulous co-ordination of many service packages to include fire systems/panic alarms, mechanical and electrical and data.

The project was carried out in phases to allow one custody suite to be refurbished – whilst another in the area took on the responsibilities of the closed suite. This required the project to be completed with strict, immoveable dates for the completion of each phase.

Prior to commencement of works, Coniston staff and subcontractors were required to be security cleared (to Counter-Terrorism Level).
