Natural History Museum Cloakroom Refurbishment Print Case Study

Description:

Value: £223,000
Duration: 11 weeks
Quantity Surveyor: Baker Mallet
Architect: Purcell

We completed the public cloakroom refurbishment works at the Grade I listed Natural History Museum.  The Museum houses a vast collection of specimens from various periods of natural history.

The works comprised the conversion of the existing

Members Room located within the Central Hall of the Waterhouse Building to provide a new public cloakroom.

The project involved making good walls where fittings have been removed, re-hanging the existing entrance door and creating an additional doorway.

The existing stone and mosaic floor(s) were repaired and reinstated and new floor finishes applied within the new cloakroom.

Installation of the new cloakroom racking and fixtures was carried out, and a new reception desk installed.

In addition, existing services and lighting were upgraded including all required builders work to ensure the reinstated of the Grade I listed building fabric.
