Royal Society of Chemistry RefurbishmentPrint Case Study

Value: £500,000
Duration: 16 weeks
Quantity Surveyor: Ridge & Partners
Architect: Hugh Broughton

The Royal Society of Chemistry is located in the Grade I Listed Burlington House. It is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing chemical sciences. Supported by a worldwide network of members and an international publishing business, their activities span education, conferences, science policy and the promotion of chemistry to the public.

Our scope of works included the complete rearrangement and refurbishment of the ground floor reception area, presentation / meeting rooms, communal areas and toilet facilities. A comprehensive mechanical and electrical package was also included within the brief.

Features such as the Victorian stone floor were uncovered and sympathetically restored back to their original condition.  Bespoke and specialist light fittings were used to enhance the mechanical and electrical installations of the building to provide suitable spaces for undertaking seminars, lectures and presentations whilst complementing the building’s elegance.
