Corporate Social Responsibility

We take our corporate social responsibility seriously and make every effort to support the community in which we operate. We recognise that we have a social and economic responsibility to the community and we are dedicated to a wide range of activities that support both the community and the environment.

We promote an ethical approach to construction and encourage our supply chain to follow responsible procedures such as ensuring materials are sourced from sustainable means, encouraging the use of locally sourced materials and labour where at all possible and ensuring materials are sourced from companies who are committed to the principles of fair trade.

These include:

The Ellenor Hospice
We have been supporting the Ellenor Hospice for a number of years, being involved in a range of fundraising initiatives. To date we have raised £65,000 for the charity.  For more information on the charity and the service it provides please click here.

'Young Persons' Training Schemes
We run two schemes aimed at employing and training young people for a career in the construction industry.  There are:

  • Apprenticeship Schemes - we run up to four site-based apprenticeship schemes at any one time. The schemes cover a number of trades and are designed to provide young people with a combination of practical skills and on-site work experience to prepare them for a career in their chosen trade.
  • Fast-Track Graduate Training Programme - our Graduate Programme seeks to employ a recent graduate in a 'support' role within the company, moving from department to department.  Within a two-year period the Graduate shall be required to choose which career path they wish to follow (Contracts Management, Quantity Surveying or Estimating) and shall become an apprentice within this department, allowing the company to employ another graduate on the programme.

Support for local schemes and initiatives
Our projects take us throughout London and the South East. Wherever possible we endeavour to support the area, economy and initiatives local to our construction site(s).  These intiatives have included providing carpenters to a local church for maintenence and repair works to the pews, supporting two schools in their pursuit of recognition of excellence (Engineering and Special Needs) and providing Career Open Days on operational sites to promote the construction industry and career oppotunities therein.
