Coniston are completing a new build extension at Spire Bushey Hospital, Watford.

The new build portion of the works includes the part demolition of an existing area, piled and beam foundations. A concrete frame has been cast to first floor with steel frame to upper levels. A flat roof accommodates the mechanical and electrical plant.

The ground floor area is to house a new sterile service department, which will be moved from the existing main hospital. The first floor is to accommodate a new state of the art theatre, recovery and associated rooms.

Later phases in the project include for an in-fill to the existing hospital and additional remodelling to create offices, staff areas and bedroom facilities.

This project is very intricately phased and the production team are in constant communication with the hospital stakeholders to insure disruption to staff and patients are minimal.

The hospital has remained fully operational for the duration of the works. The site area is in close proximity to an operational theatre suite, kitchen, recovery areas, CT, MR, X Ray, patient bedrooms and neighbouring residential properties.
