Streatham Ambulance Station, New Build

Value: £1,000,000
Duration: 40 weeks
Architect: Frankhams
Quantity Surveyor: Frankhams

This new build project, the first to be commissioned by the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust in over fifteen years, involved the initial demolition of the existing ambulance station and air raid shelter to allow for the construction of the new station.

The project comprised the construction of a two storey ambulance station, with a forecourt for ambulance parking, workshop area with space for six ambulances and welfare facilities including a living area, toilet / shower and kitchen. A roof terrace was also constructed which overlooked the surrounding area.

The ambulance station was constructed in a residential area where careful planning and execution of the contract had to be conducted in order to ensure minimal disruption to the local residents.
