Working with Westminster City Council, and funded by the National Lottery, we completed the extension and refurbishment of Church Street Library. The project included the installation of a new staircase and lift, an extension of the internal space and the conversion of the garage, creating a mezzanine floor and linkway to provide new staff rooms.

A new Learning Centre was created in the lower level mezzanine area. The project was intended to enhance youth and community use of the library with greater accessibility and improved fire safety. Whilst carrying out this project, we also completed an external works package involving the conversion of an existing shop to provide a walkthrough to the library and associated external works.

Church Street Library is located in an occupied courtyard, surrounded on all four sides by residential apartment blocks. Meticulous planning was required to control noise associated with construction works (particularly structural alterations).
